Materials: Par Can Lighting fixtures, Sound to Light Unit , Amplifier & Cables, Smoke Machine [dimensions variable]

This is an immersive sound and light installation that combines stage lighting, a smoke machine, and an 8-hour and 46-minute audio sequence playing every chord from David Bowie's Little Black Songbook as simple four-note arpeggios. The ambient musical piece progresses chronologically through Bowie's songs, from "Absolute Beginners" to "Ziggy Stardust," creating an atmospheric environment designed to accompany performances by the Bowie Lounge*.

*The Bowie Lounge is an artistic response to the work of David Bowie, created by artist, writer, and performer Keith Sparrow. Previous shows have involved a re-staging of Bowie’s songs, readings, poems, dance, and art happenings.
