ONE GALLON OF FAL RIVER MUD REDISTRIBUTED OVER NINETY MINUTES AND SIX EXTRA TIME

The work began as a simple thought: what would happen if Richard Long's River Mud drawings were made, not with the artist's hand, but through a game of wally? Using one gallon of dock silt from the River Fal and a football, the artist repeatedly kicked the mud-covered ball against a gallery wall over 96 minutes - the duration of a football match plus six minutes of added time.

The work was first shown at Soil Culture, Falmouth University, Falmouth, UK (2014)
